La valutazione elettrofisiologica rappresenta uno strumento fondamentale per indagare in modo oggettivo l’integrità delle vie uditive e vestibolari. In questo contesto, i potenziali evocati uditivi del tronco encefalico (ABR) e i potenziali evocati miogenici vestibolari (VEMP) consentono di analizzare in maniera non invasiva le risposte neurali del sistema uditivo e vestibolare, fornendo informazioni preziose per l’inquadramento diagnostico di diverse condizioni cliniche.
La masterclass propone un approfondimento sui principi fisiopatologici, sulle modalità di acquisizione e sull’interpretazione clinica dei potenziali evocati. Partendo dai fondamenti metodologici di ABR e VEMP, verranno illustrate le principali applicazioni diagnostiche, con particolare attenzione alla diagnosi differenziale dei disturbi uditivi e vestibolari.
Attraverso la discussione di casi clinici ed esercitazioni dimostrative, i partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di confrontarsi con esempi reali di registrazione e analisi dei tracciati. Le attività pratiche saranno svolte utilizzando Celesta, il sistema Inventis dedicato alla registrazione dei potenziali evocati, che consentirà di illustrare i principali protocolli di acquisizione e le strategie per ottimizzare la qualità del segnale.
La masterclass offrirà ai partecipanti un’importante occasione di confronto diretto: sarà infatti possibile proporre un proprio caso clinico, da condividere e discutere insieme al docente nel corso della sessione finale.

Il webinar offrirà una panoramica delle procedure REM, analizzando passo dopo passo il processo di fitting. Partendo dal fitting REM tradizionale con l’acquisizione delle curve fondamentali, evidenziando l’importanza dell’ottimizzare la regolazione del guadagno dell’apparecchio acustico attraverso il Live Speech Mapping e validando il risultato protesico ottenuto.
Il seminario ha l’obiettivo di portare le misure REM al centro del processo di fitting e migliorare i risultati protesici.

Dr. Mikael Karlberg is an Associate Professor at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Lund University, Sweden, with over 35 years of experience. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of balance disorders and vertigo. Dr. Karlberg has authored over 60 articles in international scientific journals and co-authored the book "Det snurrar – Allt om yrsel och balanssjukdomar" (Bazar Förlag, 2023).
He is President of the Bárány Society and has served as the Scientific Secretary of the Swedish Society of Otorhinolaryngology. Dr. Karlberg is widely recognized for his contributions to research and clinical practice in vestibular disorders.

Dr. Pasquale Malara is an audiometrist and hearing aid specialist at the audiovestibology and vestibular rehabilitation service of CENTROMEDICO in Bellinzona (Italian Switzerland).
He is the author and co-author of articles in national and international literature in the sector as well as a speaker at national conferences.
Dr Benzamit Makhlouf is a private ENT in Sétif, Algeria. Former associate professor at the Ferhat Abbas Faculty of Medicine in Sétif, Algeria, he is a founding member and General Secretary of the AOS (ENT association of Sétif).
He is also a member of the executive board of the ANOL (national association of private ENT specialists) and of the MSOA (Mediterranean Society of Otology and Audiology).
Finally, he is a member of the Politzer Society and of the EAONO (European Academy of Otology and Otoneurology.
