Remote vs. Goggle-based VHIT: A Comparison

Comparative Study of Two Video-oculography Technologies in Quantitative Head Impulse Testing

This study compares two video head impulse test (VHIT) technologies: traditional goggle-based systems and a newer remote camera approach.

Current VHIT devices typically require patients to wear goggles equipped with eye tracking and head movement sensors. This study explores the SYNAPSYS VHIT system, which utilizes a remote camera instead, eliminating the need for goggles.

Researchers compared the effectiveness of both methods by conducting VHIT tests in a clinical setting. They assessed a metric called "VOR gain," which reflects balance function.

The findings of this study will be presented, allowing for a comparison of the accuracy and potential advantages of the remote camera VHIT technology.
